In the city of Prilly, in the immediate vicinity of Lausanne and Lake Geneva, MA Architekten was invited to internale WBW to develop a highly complex hybrid building with 85m high-rise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located at the crossroads of the cities of Lausanne, Prilly and Renens, the Malley site is a strategic location in the heart of the Lausanne-Morges agglomeration. The site is destined to become a new urban center, around the Prilly-Malley train station.
As part of the central brownfield development of Malley, the “Viaduc” building site has a cross-quarter significance. With its autonomy of the iconographic effect of the tower, it represents the hinge between the northern Prilly & and the southern area the Prilly -Malley train station and, due to its location, together with the historic viaduct, it is the northern gateway to a new vibrant district.
The Malley-Viaduc site is dedicated to a major urban development project that aims to transform the site from an industrial wasteland into a new part of a sustainable and environmentally ambitious city. It includes apartments, a hotel, micro-apartments, co-working spaces, sports facilities, public catering services and stores. The site offers residents and visitors all the qualities of a lively center, geared toward soft mobility and very well connected to public transport.

The Malley site is intended to be exemplary both from an environmental point of view and in terms of the mix between activities and housing and between future residents. The site is very well connected to public transportation. A dense network of public spaces and specific, efficient facilities will promote soft mobility in the district. The buildings and public spaces will allow for the enhancement of the historic railroad viaduct and its extension. They will facilitate the pedestrian
permeability of the site, especially towards the future streetcar stop to the north and the access to the SBB Prilly-Malley stop to the south.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The character of the surrounding area is that of a heterogeneous conversion area. Therefore we design
a building with exactly this independence from its context.

The most eye-catching part of the ensemble is the residential tower with its 16 floors and dynamically curved
bands of balconies. They are staggered horizontally in relation to each other and form the identity-creating

The balustrades of the balconies are part of the element facade and are prefabricated as lightweight
