Sparda-Bank Tower / Entrance Fair FFM

The new office and hotel complex by MA Architekten makes a confident and striking impression on Europa-Allee in Frankfurt. It is visible from afar as the striking high point of the new Europaviertel.
The 124-meter tower stands on a sculptural base with a hotel on the first 19 floors and office use on the upper floors. The base houses the foyer of the new Strategic Access South to the exhibition center, as well as meeting and multipurpose rooms.
The simple, compact silhouette of the tower is articulated by two subtle incisions. The slight staggering at the edge of the building gives the structure a moving facade. In the direction of the trade fair, it shows its characteristic face without competing with the Frankfurt landmark, the Messeturm, in terms of design. With its forecourt, the building fits harmoniously into its surroundings. Construction began at the beginning of 2022, and the opening is planned for 2024.

Competition 2013- 2014

An architectural competition for a high-rise building at the south entrance to the trade fair was launched back in 2013. We were able to prevail against strong competition with our design. “The winning design sets a striking example and provides an innovative answer to the question of how new buildings with different uses can look and function,” said the jury.
